Viewing a GelScan gif Image
The Retrieve DNA Sequencing Results can be configured to display a GelScan gif image.
This allows users to determine the readability of their sequences. This is a
two step process. First, the Enable GelScan Viewing function needs to be enabled
within the Configure System and Enable Applications form. Second, before
processing the Run Folder into the Unix computer, copy the GelScan gif image into
the Run Folder. Then process the Run Folder.
Creating a GelScan gif Image
View the GelScan image on the Macintosh. Use Contol Shift 3 to create a screen
image in Pict format of the GelScan image. Use AppleWorks (or other image processing
software) to read the Pict file and save the file as a gif image. Title the gif
image with the Gel Number and the .gif extension. Example: 555.gif
Copy the gif image into the associated Run Folder and process the Run Folder into the
Unix computer.
